Guided hiking in the oak grove of Cerro del Hierro


The tour is framed within the Sierra Norte de Sevilla Natural Park, visiting places with a high landscape and ecological value. The oak forest in question is unique in the world.

Route with a very favorable profile, since it is very flat and begins at an altitude of 800 meters in the Puerto del Cerro Negrillo and ends in San Nicolas del Puerto at about 580 meters.

The first section is downhill on a livestock route, first on one per track and then on a path to a stream that turns back into a path through an open area of vegetation.

After km 5 we enter the most interesting part of the route, as we enter the Cerro del Hierro forest, a mixed forest of cork oaks, holm oaks, gall oaks and some specimens of melojo oak.

After crossing it, we will enter the labyrinth of corridors of the old Cerro del Hierro mine until the picnic area in the area near the "house of the English" (km 10 of the route) where we will have lunch.

The rest will continue the march through the Cerro del Hierro village, we will take a section of the oak forest again, until we reach a cattle route that leads us towards San Nicolás del Puerto. The last section we will do along the greenway of the Sierra Norte de Sevilla.

Route level: low-medium.
Difference in altitude: 200 meters, mainly flat.
Distance: 12 km.

The price of the route includes mountain guide, civil and accident insurance, collection at the end of the route.

If the payment of the route is made after Thursday, it will have a supplement of 2 euros.
